Dena Doublex loves her "sweet little honeybees." She has kept bees at Raven's Roost Cohousing for the past 7 years and is astounded by their fascinating abilities and complicated social relationships which make every season and every hive unique. Two hives in the same location can have very different experiences which makes beekeeping an interesting adventure.
The bees have 6+ acres of herbicide/pesticide free land to gather their pollen and nectar from. She never chemically treats her hives. Her general philosophy is that the bees know better than humans do what they need. Her role as a beekeeper is to get out of their way and let them do their thing in the way that only these sweet little honeybees can do.
